FELLOWSHIP & RECREATION MINISTRY

The FELLOWSHIP & RECREATION MINISTRY seeks to bring our church together as Christ's family. Come join this ministry on Ministry Night and get a feel for where you might plant your feet and serve the Lord.

DINNERS

Cumberland Presbyterians aren't shy when it comes to good food. And we here at St. Luke don't beat around the bush when it comes to fellowship, either. Therefore, we'll get together to eat, for just about any occasion. Several times a month we have some sort of fellowship lunch, breakfast or supper. St. Luke knows how to sizzle. We're always looking for workers who like to cook, clean, serve, or just eat. Interested? Call Susan Geurtz.

DINNER EIGHT

Dinner Eight coordinates three couples from the church getting together once a month to share a meal. A fourth couple, friends or neighbors, is also invited. Groups are assigned for each quarter of the year at sign-up time. Substitutes are always needed and new participants are always welcome. Want to feel welcome at church? For more information call the coordinators, who joined the church after being invited to a Dinner Eight - Cherie or Daniel Dioguardi.

LAST SUNDAY BREAKFAST

On the last Sunday of each month, breakfast is served in the Family Life Center at 8:00 - 9:30 am. This time of good food and good fellowship is open to all visitors, friends, and members of St. Luke. Donations are accepted.

RECREATION & SPORTS

From the novice to the expert, if you've never played or if you've always wanted to learn, we have a youth, coed, or men's softball team for you. In August of each year, St. Luke participates in an annual softball tournament to help raise funds for the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton, Texas. This event is fun time for all including the spectators.

QUAD PLUS

On the third Saturday of each month, everyone age "Forty Plus" is invited to have breakfast together at the Golden Corral on Hulen Street beginning at 9:00 am. For more information call Olive Boston or Mary Ellen Cobb.

SCOUTING

St. Luke charters and provides meeting facilities for Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs. We have two Brownie troops, a Girl Scout troop, a Cub Scout Pack and a Boy Scout Troop that meet here each week. For more information contact our Scouting Coordinator, John Hughes.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The FELLOWSHIP & RECREATION ministry impacts much more than just the taste buds of the congregation. They yearly host our Ministry Expo, Mission Sunday, stewardship Campaign and Fall Festival. This ministry also staff many of our Benevolence opportunities when a death occurs or someone is ill. If you have a heart for evangelism, ministry or just are gifted and called by God to serve, we have a place for you. Contact the church office for more information: 817-293-3778.
